CentricMinds Drive

SharePoint Integration

Learn how to connect to an existing Microsoft Office 365 service, specifically, Sharepoint and sync your files to CentricMinds Drive.

Video Transcript

In this training session, we’re going to be looking at connecting with and synchronizing from third party content services.

CentricMinds natively connects with services like Microsoft SharePoint, Google Drive and Dropbox, to name a few.

When logged in as an Administrator, we can go to ‘My Integrations’.

CentricMinds offers standard integration with Google Drive, Microsoft 3-6-5 and Salesforce.

In this training session, we’re going to connect with an existing Microsoft 3-6-5 service. And specifically, we’ll connect with an on-line SharePoint environment. Content within this SharePoint will be synchronized into CentricMinds Drive.

We’ve got a SharePoint demonstration site here, and within this site, we can see the ‘Presentations’ folder lists a collection of PDF documents.

We want to present these documents inside CentricMinds Drive.

The first step is to click on the 3-6-5 service.

Then you’ll need to enter the Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client Secret. You can access these details from your Microsoft 3-6-5 administration panel.

Once you’ve entered this information, you will want to save.

CentricMinds will tell us that the configuration has been saved successfully.

We’ll now go to Drive.

We can now see within the folder structure, the ‘Presentation’ folder.

Currently it contains no files.

If  we select different folders, we can see they have files stored.

But we want to show documents stored in the SharePoint Presentation folder, to be shown inside CentricMinds Drive.

Let’s click the pencil icon.

And go to the ‘Presentation’ folder.

Clicking on the pencil icon, we can see that the default configuration allows us to map a specific folder from SharePoint, with the Presentations folder in CentricMinds.

Let’s save the configuration.

After a short moment, the synchronization process will run in the background.

Now if we go to the ‘Presentations’ folder, you can now see the files appear that have been synchronized from the SharePoint environment.

If a SharePoint user published further information to the Presentations folder, it will automatically be synchronized and displayed here.

And once these files are in CentricMinds Drive, we can add tags, apply security for external audiences to access and more.

In revisiting what has been covered in this training session, we have connected CentricMinds Drive with a folder in your SharePoint environment. We have then synchronized this SharePoint content so that it appears in CentricMinds Drive.
